Safeguarding & Child Protection

SAFEGUARDING IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY

The safety of children at Marwood School is of paramount importance to us.  We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils. We endeavour to provide a safe welcoming environment where children are respected and valued and we are committed to ensuring that all members of our school community will thrive in a safe and happy learning environment.  We are alert to signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support and protection.

The Safeguarding Designated Officer (SDO) is Mr Alun Dobson (Headteacher), Mrs Laura Hume and Mrs Gill May are the Deputy SDO’s.  If you have concerns regarding the safety of a child (Something a child says, marks or bruising on a child or changes in a child’s behaviour or demeanour) please inform  the SDO or Deputy SDO via the school office.
